Sustained Dialogue Moderator Training 2017

October 20-21, 2017

Friday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm each day

This two-day workshop is designed for undergraduate and graduate/professional students** to understand and practice the art, concepts, and tools of dialogue as a method to develop and strengthen productive campus relationships and decide on action.

Sustained Dialogue Moderator Training teaches the skills of an effective leader.  The program covers inclusive leadership and conflict resolution skills such as inquiry, influence, mindful listening, facilitation, and convening.  Participants will learn the critical skills needed to moderate dialogues about difficult and often divisive issues important to our campus community.

This two-day workshop is offered at no cost however all participants are asked to commit to the full workshop.   Space is limited.

** A select number of seats are available for staff, faculty, and other academics.

"Diversity Dialogue Series: The Muslim American Experience" was created by staff members to provide UC Davis staff an opportunity to learn about Islam and Muslims through dialogue with people of many different perspectives. 

Dialogues begin with brief presentations from panelists, followed by Q & A.  Lunch provided.  Events are free.  Seating is limited.  Faculty and students are welcome, but first preference will be given to staff.

This series is funded by a UC Davis Diversity and Inclusion Innovation Grant.  More information about the Diversity and Inclusion Innovation Grants can be found here.   The series is hosted by the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity, the Campus Council on Community and Diversity, the Office of Campus Community Relations, and the Staff Diversity Administrative Advisory Committee.
