Heightened tensions from the conflict in the Middle East have led to an increase in hate crimes and discriminatory incidents on campuses nationwide. The current political climate has also contributed to the silencing of important discourse, which has profoundly affected our faculty, staff, and students.
This Grand Rounds speaker series aims to provide a safe forum where perspectives can be expressed, fostering collective reflection.
Featured Speaker: Jamil Dakwar
Dakwar is the Director of the American Civil Liberties Unionβs Human Rights Program (HRP) which is dedicated to holding the U.S. government accountable to its international human rights obligations and commitments. HRP conducts human rights research, documentation, and public education, as well as engages in litigation and advocacy before U.S. courts and international human rights bodies.
