Please join the Davis Humanities Institute and the Peter J. Shields Library for a conversation with Professor Ryan Lee Cartwright about his book Peculiar Places: A Queer Crip History of White Rural Nonconformity. The conversation will draw on disability studies, queer studies, and gender studies and touch on themes explored in the book, including the representation of white rural poverty across popular science, documentary photography, news media, documentaries, and horror films in 20th century America.
The event will close with a complimentary reception.
