Inclusive Excellence Invites You to a Season of Music and Dance

🌟 Inspiration in the Arts is a partnership with the Mondavi Center

Art has a unique ability to bring people together—to help us pause, reflect, and reconnect with one another through shared experience. For several seasons, Inclusive Excellence has partnered with the Mondavi Center to elevate select performances that reflect the campus’s commitment to equity through artistic and cultural connection — making Inspiration in the Arts a signature collaboration for the UC Davis community.

Presented in partnership with the Mondavi Center, this season’s co-sponsored programming highlights artists whose work reflects the values at the heart of Inclusive Excellence: expression, understanding, and the belief that creativity can help us imagine more connected futures.

“Inspiration in the Arts reminds us that belonging is not only built through conversation, but through shared experiences that engage our senses and our emotions. We also take time and opportunity to appreciate the talent of the artist, and the expertise that they bring to their crafts,” said Renetta G. Tull, vice chancellor for Inclusive Excellence. “These performances create space for joy, reflection, and connection—helping us come together as a community in meaningful ways.”

A Limited Series of Performances That Invite Us to Gather

Inclusive Excellence chose to co-sponsor several events that reflect how art can function as a connector across identities, disciplines, and perspectives. Whether through the embodied storytelling of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the global musical influences of Lucía, or the boundless energy and vision celebrating Miles Davis in Unlimited Miles, the featured artists invite audiences to be present with one another. They reflect how Inclusive Excellence approaches its work more broadly—by honoring lived experience and fostering moments of collective meaning.

“These artists exemplify the Mondavi Center’s commitment to presenting work that is both artistically excellent and deeply human,” said Jeremy Ganter, executive director, Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. “Partnering with Inclusive Excellence allows us to frame these performances as shared experiences that resonate far beyond the stage.”

As part of these collective experiences, Inclusive Excellence will host a meet and greet with students, staff, faculty and members of the campus community, positioning the performance as more than a concert but as an invitation to listen, witness, and engage with one another.
