Honoring Juneteenth 2025: Learning from the Past, Building Toward the Future

Happy Juneteenth! 

Juneteenth marks the date—June 19, 1865—when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Now a national holiday, Juneteenth represents a delayed but powerful moment of liberation in U.S.
